Barbara Angela Drew, 78, Gloucester Township School Administrator

Barbara Angela Drew, 78, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of Melvin Leroy Drew, Jr., entered eternal rest Thursday, February 22, 2024. Her Funeral Service will be held Monday, March 25, 2024, in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends an hour before the service. Inurnment will be held Mepkin Abbey, 103 Mepkin Abbey Rd., Moncks Corner, SC 29461 at 2:30 pm.

Barb was born October 2, 1945 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Joseph Garczynski and the late Mary Pacana Garczynski. She earned her master's degree from Glassboro State College and began a lifelong career in education. She was a School Administrator in Gloucester Township NJ for 33 years and served on the school board in Sea Isle City, NJ. Barb was a devout Catholic and member of St. Joseph's Parish in Sea Isle City. She lived her faith serving as a Eucharistic minister to many in local nursing homes. She enjoyed gardening, shopping and traveling, especially trips to casinos to play the slot machines.

She is survived by her husband 54 years, Mel; brother Joe Garczynski and his wife Rita; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Barb always had a big heart for animals, in lieu of flowers donations to ASPCA P.O. Box 96929, Washington, DC 20090-6929 are appreciated.
