Jean Moir, 86, of Audubon, New Jersey passed away on Feb. 21, 2024 after a brief hospitalization for cancer. Jean was born on March 1, 1937 at home in Audubon to Robert B. Moir and Regina Moir (Martin). Jean was a lifetime resident of Audubon.
Jean graduated from Audubon High School in 1951 and participated in the all-girl "Audubon Bon Bons" drum and bugle corp. She played the French horn and was awarded best French horn player during her marching days. After high school she worked her entire career as a legal secretary for several attorneys. She retired in 1997 from the law firm Montano, Summers, Mullen, Manuel, et al., in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. For many years before and after retirement, she lived with and cared for her mother Regina (Jean) in Audubon.
Jean was a loving person and aunt to her niece, two nephews, their spouses and children. Although she never drove a car, she loved to travel and watch the Mummers parade. She enjoyed many types of arts and crafts, especially making and decorating "blown" eggs as gifts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her older brother Robert Moir of Audubon and a nephew, Robert Dennis Moir "Dennis" of Oaklyn, New Jersey. Jean is survived by her niece Eileen Moir Howell (Don), her nephew Raymond L. Moir (Lorraine), her deceased nephew's spouse Kathy Moir, and a host of great nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a private service some time in the future. Arrangements by the FOSTER-WARNE FUNERAL HOME, Audubon and Collingswood, NJ.
