Hit and Run Accident in Gloucester Township; Victim Taken to Cooper Hospital

On Monday, February 19. 2024, at approximately 3:00pm, officers were dispatched to Gloucester Township Community Park located at 400 Hickstown Road in the Erial section of the town for a report of a subject bleeding in a vehicle.

Upon arrival, Gloucester Township Fire Department Station 85 was on location with Inspiria BLS and Medics administering care to the victim. Initial investigation revealed that an adult male either fell off the hood of a moving vehicle or was struck by the vehicle after a verbal altercation. The Male was transported to Cooper Hospital by Hackensack Meridian Health Medivac. The Gloucester Township Police Serious Crash Victim Investigation Team (SCIT) and detectives responded to the scene for further investigation. The striking vehicle fled the scene in an unknown direction and is described as a dark gray or dark colored 4 door sedan. This incident is still an active investigation being handled by the Gloucester Township Police Department Serious Crash Investigation Team and the Investigations Bureau.
