The GFWC Woman's Club of Runnemede, in collaboration with the Runnemede, Somerdale, and Barrington Green Teams, is thrilled to announce a series of four environmental seminars scheduled for the upcoming months. These informative sessions aim to raise awareness and foster a deeper understanding of the local environment among community members, with a special invitation extended to 7th-grade students from area schools.

The seminars will be held on February 20, 2024, March 19, 2024, April 10, 2024, and May 1, 2024, at St. Maria Goretti Hall, 321 Orchard Ave, Runnemede, NJ 08078, beginning at 6:30 pm.

The inaugural seminar on February 20th will feature Allison Hartman, the Education Director for Pinelands Adventures and Pinelands Preservation Alliance. A South Jersey native and marine science graduate from Stockton University, Hartman brings over a decade of experience leading kayak and paddleboard tours through the salt marshes and lower Delaware River. Her expertise and passion for the natural world promise an engaging session for attendees.

7th-grade students attending the seminars may receive extra credit for their participation, encouraging young minds to explore and appreciate the environment. The series will provide valuable insights into the Pinelands National Reserve, a 1.1 million-acre protected area in the densely populated state of New Jersey. Allison Hartman will lead the discussion, sharing her knowledge about the unique animals, rare plants, and beautiful habitats found within the Pinelands and Pine Barrens.

The GFWC Woman's Club of Runnemede invites the community to join these educational seminars, fostering a sense of environmental stewardship and appreciation for the natural wonders in our midst.

If you are interested in joining the GFWC Woman’s Club of Runnemede, we invite you to attend one of our meetings. We meet every fourth Tuesday of the month from 6:30-9:00 PM at the Runnemede Senior Citizens Center at 2 Broadway, Runnemede, NJ 08078.
