ABSECON, NJ (February 18, 2024)(CNBNews)--On February 18, 2024, just before 8:30 AM, officers responded to a carjacking incident in progress on U.S. Route 30 (Absecon Boulevard). The incident unfolded as the suspect, identified as Deshaun C. Washington, 31, of Mays Landing, entered the lane of travel on U.S. Route 30, on foot, with the intent to disrupt traffic.
The victim, a motorist traveling on U.S. Route 30, stopped to avoid colliding with the pedestrian. Washington aggressively approached the vehicle, banging on the hood to gain access. Fortunately, the doors were locked, preventing the suspect from entering. Undeterred, Washington resorted to violence, repeatedly punching the vehicle window.
