PHILADELPHIA, PA (January 28, 2024)(CNBNews)--The Philadelphia Police Public Affairs Office released the following overnight incidents from Saturday evening up until Sunday morning. Incident 1:
Shooting at 51xx Market Street, 16th District
On the eastbound El platform at 51xx Market around 9:27 am, an unidentified male shot a 51-year-old male, multiple times. The victim was quickly taken to Presby by police and is now reported to be in stable condition. As of now, the situation is contained, with no arrests and no weapons found at the scene. The investigation is ongoing with the Shooting Investigation Group.
Incident 2:
Stabbing at 26XX North Franklin Street, 26th District
In the early hours of Sunday, January 28, 2024, at approximately 1:25 am, a 45-year-old male was stabbed once in the lip inside a private residence at 26XX N Franklin Street. The victim was transported by Medic 22 to Temple University Hospital, where he is now in stable condition. The scene is secure, and the alleged assailant is in custody, with the weapon recovered. Further details will be provided as charges are confirmed and processing is completed.
Incident 3:
Homicide at 5XX South 54th Street
On Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 11:30 pm, officers from the 18th District responded to a "Hospital Case/Shooting Victim" call at 5XX S. 54th Street. Emergency medical personnel guided them to a 29-year-old male victim inside the trauma bay with a gunshot wound to the left side. Tragically, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 12:12 am. Through investigation, it was determined that the incident occurred at 8XX S. Cecil Street.
