Harrison Police Remind Residents About Parking Vehicles When It Snows

HARRISON TOWNSHIP, NJ (January 19, 2024)(CNBNews)--The Harrison Township Police released the following warning about vehicles being left on the roadway when it snows.

We would like to remind residents that all vehicles should be removed from all streets and highways whenever snow has fallen and accumulation is such that it covers the street and highways within the Township per Ordinance #214-10.

The parking prohibitions shall remain in effect after the snow has ceased until the streets have been plowed sufficiently and to the extent that parking will not interfere with the normal flow of traffic.

Any unoccupied vehicle parked or standing in violation of this section shall be deemed a nuisance and a menace to the safe and proper regulation of traffic, and any police officer may provide for the removal of such vehicle. The owner shall pay the reasonable costs of removal and storage which may result from such removal before regaining possession of the vehicle.
