Conclusion of Gloucester Township Police's 100th Anniversary

Message from Chief David Harkins

We are concluding our celebration of 100 years of service (1923-2023) to the community of Gloucester Township. The Gloucester Township Police Department was officially established in 1923. No one at that time could have imagined the technology and development of modern policing. We are proud that the honor, history, and traditions of the Gloucester Township Police Department have been well established. All who currently serve know what is expected of us.

We officially will remove our commemorative 100 anniversary badges today, but we carry the legacy of service forward into the next 100 years. This celebration has connected our past with our future, and we are all better for it. Just like all of those who have served over the past 100 years, we are all proud to be part of the great Gloucester Township Police Department. We look forward to another great 100 years of service to the community!

On behalf of all of those who serve and have served at the Gloucester Township Police Department, have a happy, safe, and healthy New Year!

Chief David J. Harkins
Gloucester Township Police Department
