Camden City Man Charged with Murder

Camden City, N.J.- A Camden City man has been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a man in Camden on December 27, 2023, announced Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez. Screenshot 2024-01-10 at 09.04.38

On December 28, 2023, Isaac Santiago, 21, of Camden City, was charged with first-degree Murder in the death of Esterlin Torres, 35, of Pennsauken.  He was also charged with second-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and second-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.  Following an investigation, on January 3, 2024, Santiago was arrested in Camden City by the U.S. Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force – Camden Division.

On December 27, 2023, at 6:07 p.m., Camden County Police responded to the 1400 block of Louis Street for a ShotSpotter activation. The victim was identified as Esterlin Torres. Torres was transported to Cooper University Hospital, and he was pronounced deceased at 8:39 p.m.
