Camden City Man Charged with Murder

Camden City, N.J.-(January 10, 2023)-- A Camden City man has been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a man in Camden on December 27, 2023, announced Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez.
On December 28, 2023, Isaac Santiago, 21, of Camden City, was charged with first-degree Murder in the death of Esterlin Torres, 35, of Pennsauken. He was also charged with second-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and second-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose. Following an investigation, on January 3, 2024, Santiago was arrested in Camden City by the U.S. Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force – Camden Division.
On December 27, 2023, at 6:07 p.m., Camden County Police responded to the 1400 block of Louis Street for a ShotSpotter activation. The victim was identified as Esterlin Torres. Torres was transported to Cooper University Hospital, and he was pronounced deceased at 8:39 p.m.
