59-Year-Old Inmate at Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility Beaten to Death

Philadelphia, PA (January 29, 2024)(CNBNews)-– On Sunday, January 28, 2024, at approximately 9:15 am, officers from the 8th District responded to a "Hospital Case" at the Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility at 8101 State Road. The reported incident involved a 59-year-old male inmate who had been stabbed and was found unconscious.
 
Upon reaching the scene, officers discovered that the victim had sustained blunt-force trauma to the head. Despite immediate medical intervention by Medic 17, he was pronounced deceased at 9:43 am. The victim's cellmate, a 25-year-old male, was promptly removed from the cell and relocated to a different area within the prison.
 
 The investigation into the incident is currently underway, and updates will be provided as they become available.
