Double Shooting/ Homicide - 19XX South 60th Street
On December 28, 2023, around 1:30 pm, officers from the 12th District responded to a double shooting on the highway of 19XX S. 60th Street. Two unidentified victims were found shot multiple times in the chest and left arm. Both were admitted in critical condition to Penn-Presbyterian Medical Center. Jalonnie Gentry, 28, from 18XX S. Bancroft Street, was pronounced dead at 1:48 pm.
On December 28, 2023, at 11:26 pm, officers from the 8th District responded to a "Person with a gun" radio call at 35XX Woodhaven Road, Apt XXX. They found 33 year old Bilal Henry with multiple gunshot wounds to the torso. Medic 20 responded and, pronounced him dead at 11:37 pm.
The preliminary investigation reveals that, after responding to loud knocking, he was shot upon opening the front door. No injuries to other occupants were reported. At this time there is no motive or arrest. The investigation is ongoing with the Homicide Unit.
Stabbing - Sprague And Woodlawn Street
In the 14th District, at 12:19 am, a 44-year-old Black male was stabbed once in the right arm at Sprague St and E Woodlawn St on the highway. He was transported to Albert Einstein Medical Center in stable condition by private vehicle. No scene, arrests, or weapon recovery reported.
Shooting - 44XX Germantown Ave
At 12:15 am in the 39th District, a 16-year-old male was shot once in the left hand inside a private residence at 44xx Germantown Ave. He was taken to Einstein Medical Center in stable condition. The scene. No arrests or weapon recovered.

The surviving victim took cover, and the supervisor drove away, stopping when encountering responding officers. No motive or arrests have been determined; the investigation is ongoing with the Homicide Unit.
