The program, spearheaded by the Philadelphia Police Department will include, a member of each PPD Patrol District and a group of children within the district to shop together for the holidays to foster positive relationships between the police and the children in the neighborhoods they serve. Participating police officers have volunteered their own time to support this program, and will be in full uniform, which they enhanced with some unique holiday styles.

The event will kick-off at 9am with a program featuring Interim Philadelphia Police Commissioner John Stanford, Santa Claus, and others who will be on-site to spread their love and receive the children's Christmas wishes. The 9AM event will be proceeded with a a Santa-led procession from the McDonald’s parking lot to the stage display in front of Walmart.

In addition to the generous monetary donations of these sponsors, McDonald’s will be donating meals to every child taking part in the Shop with a Cop event, and Dunkin Donuts will be providing samples to guests. In addition, The 76ers Dance Team and Franklin, The Eagles Cheerleaders and Swoop, as well as the Liberty Coca-Cola truck and polar bear will be on hand to take photos with our shoppers.

About Shop with a Cop

Shop with a Cop is a national program pairing police officers with children to afford them a better holiday season. The program promotes synergy and partnership between the police and the communities they serve and helps foster a positive relationship between the police and our precious children. This citywide event took place in Philly for the first time in 2021 and we are excited to build upon this new tradition.

About the Philadelphia Police Foundation

The mission of the Philadelphia Police Foundation is to provide important support and resources to the Philadelphia Police Department to assist the Department in ensuring the safety and security of the city’s residents, visitors and businesses. Where the City of Philadelphia’s budget ends, the work of the Philadelphia Police Foundation (PPF) begins. Established in 1998, the PPF is the only organization authorized to raise funds for the Philadelphia Police Department. Over the past three years, Philadelphia area individuals, businesses and foundations have generously contributed over $2.0 million to underwrite over a dozen of the Department’s most critical, but unbudgeted priorities.
