Detectives Investigating Fatal Shooting in Camden City

Camden City, N.J.- Detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a man on Wednesday evening in Camden City, reported Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez.

On December 27, 2023, at 6:07 p.m., Camden County Police responded to the 1400 block of Louis Street for a ShotSpotter activation. The victim was identified as Esterlin Torres, 35, of Pennsauken. Torres was transported to Cooper University Hospital, and he was pronounced deceased at 8:39 p.m.

This investigation is active and ongoing at this time.
