Police Officer Tuan Le was shot and killed while responding to a burglary call at a cannabis store in the 400 block of Embarcadero at about 4:45 am. The store had already been burglarized one time before earlier in the night. As officers arrived at the scene following the second burglary several suspects fled. Sergeant Marc McIntyre was shot and killed from ambush while responding to a domestic disturbance call on Vineyard Road, near Deason Street, in Griffin. He and another deputy were walking across the home's yard when a male subject opened fire with a shotgun from an upstairs window. Sergeant McIntyre was killed and the other deputy was wounded. MAYS LANDING, NJ – On Thursday, December 21, 2023, Jahlil Walker, 24, from Vineland, NJ, was sentenced by the Honorable Dorothy Incarvito-Garrabrant, J.S.C., for second-degree possession of a handgun without a permit. Walker was sentenced to five years in New Jersey State Prison with a three-and-a-half-year term of parole ineligibility pursuant to the Graves Act.
