Three Rowan Teams Vying for Respective NJAC Titles

GLASSBORO, NJ (November 2, 2023)(CNBNews)--– Three Rowan teams will be vying for their respective NJAC Championships this weekend as the women’s soccer, field hockey, and men’s soccer teams all look to defend their conference crowns won a year ago.
Two of the championship games will be played in Glassboro when the #15 women’s soccer team hosts #15 TCNJ on Friday at 5 p.m. and the #17 field hockey team hosts #22 TCNJ on Saturday at noon. The Profs’ men’s soccer team will be on the road, visiting #5 Montclair State on Saturday at 7 p.m.
In 2022, Rowan won an unprecedented five conference championships during the Fall season with the three teams winning titles, along with the men’s cross country and volleyball teams. The Rowan men’s cross country team already duplicated the feat as the Profs won the 2023 NJAC Championship last week.
Ticket prices for each game are: $10 for adults; $5 for students (with ID); $5 for senior citizens; and $5 for children. All ticket sales are CASH ONLY and no passes will be accepted.
At the women’s soccer and field hockey championships, the first 100 Rowan students will be admitted free with ID.
WOMEN’S SOCCER vs. TCNJ – Friday, 5 p.m.
The #10 Profs (14-0-2) advanced to their third straight NJAC Final with a 3-0 win over NJCU in the Semifinals. Rowan is attempting to capture back-to-back championships for the second time in the program’s history, while seeking its fifth overall title.
FIELD HOCKEY vs. TCNJ – Saturday, Noon
Rowan (10-7) is making its fifth consecutive appearance in the final and has won the last two championships and a total of nine in school history. The Profs earned the trip to the championship game after a 6-0 win over Stockton in the Semifinal.
MEN’S SOCCER at Montclair State – Saturday, 7 p.m.
The Profs (9-3-5) reached the championship game for the fourth year in a row by way of a 1-0 win over #23 Kean in the Semifinals. Rowan has won 15 conference titles in the program’s history and is looking to win back-to-back championships for the first time since 1993.
