Jefferson Health Nurses Honored with DAISY Award

Jefferson Health registered nurses Amber Hart, BSN, RN, and Jeong Kim, BSN, RN, PCCN, were each recently honored with a DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses.

Hart and Kim — who respectively work on the Silvestri 5 and C4 patient care units at Jefferson Washington Township Hospital and Jefferson Cherry Hill Hospital — were recognized for establishing a connection with patients and families through trust and emotional support.

Hart, of Pine Hill, NJ, received praise from colleagues for initiating a rapid response and administering Narcan to a patient suspected of taking illicit drugs. Hart exhibited non-judgmental care while providing empathetic support. In another instance, Hart successfully performed lifesaving CPR when a patient became unresponsive. Her exemplary performance during a Code Blue earned her praise from the ICU charge nurse.

Another patient expressed profound gratitude for the exceptional care Kim, of Maple Shade, NJ, provided during her challenging recovery from a mastectomy. Despite not being the assigned nurse, Kim consistently assisted the patient and other nurses through four nights. The patient praised Kim's unwavering empathy, support, and positive impact on her well-being.
