Guest Opinion: The Jewish Foundation of Philadelphia Responds to Senator Saval's Remarks

PHILADELPHIA PA (November 3, 2023)(CNBNews)--In response to Senator Saval's presence and outward support of last night's 30th Street cease-fire rally, the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia had the following to say about his lack of sincerity:

"The Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia would like to express its disappointment toward State Senator Nikil Saval for his participation in the Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP), Philly Palestine Coalition, and IfNotNow cease-fire rally last night at 30th Street Station. Senator Saval has previously stated that he “does not subscribe to the antizionism movement,” and yet, JVP proudly labels itself as an antizionist organization. Furthermore, Senator Saval stated that he “shares with everyone the desire to end the violence and stop the loss of life on both sides,” yet showing support for organizations that call for the destruction of Israel goes directly against his promise to keep his constituents safe from antisemitism. We encourage Senator Nikil Saval to reevaluate the difference between his words and actions and hold true to his promises to his Jewish constituents."
