24TH DISTRICT... SHOOTING... 18XX E SOMERSET STREET... ON THE HIGHWAY AT 2:38 A.M., A 21-YEAR-OLD MALE WAS SHOT ONCE TO THE RIGHT LEG... MALE WAS TRANSPORTED TO TEMPLE HOSPITAL BY POLICE AND PLACED IN STABLE CONDITION... SCENE HELD... NO WEAPONS WERE RECOVERED, AND NO ARRESTS MADE.

Home Invasion- 50XX Westminster Avenue
19TH DISTRICT... HOME INVASION... 50xx WESTMINSTER AVENUE... INSIDE THE PRIVATE RESIDENCE AT 1:45 A.M., THREE BLACK MALES, ALL WEARING SKI MASKS AND ARMED WITH FIREARMS, FOLLOWED BOTH COMPLAINANTS INTO THEIR RESIDENCE... TAKEN WAS A SILVER 2011 MERCEDES-BENZ C CLASS 300 SEDAN, TWO CELLPHONES, TWO WALLETS, AND CLOTHING ITEMS... NO REPORTED INJURIES. SCENE HELD... NO WEAPONS WERE RECOVERED, AND NO ARRESTS MADE.

At 10:27 a.m., 14th District officers responded to 4600 Germantown Avenue for a report of a person with a gun shooting a bus driver on Route 23 SEPTA. Upon their arrival, officers located 48-year-old SEPTA Driver Bernard Gribbin of Abington, PA, who was seated in the driver's seat of the SEPTA bus. The victim was unresponsive and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his torso and throat. Officers transported the victim to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 10:36 a.m.
Responding officers were provided with flash information about the offender. Plainclothes SEPTA Police stopped the offender at Greene Street and Queen Avenue for investigation; however, the firearm used was not recovered.
The offender, later identified as 21-year-old Zhontay Capers from 43xx Reno Street, has been charged with Murder, VUFA, and related offenses.
There were no other passengers that were struck by the gunfire, and no other injuries were reported.

24TH DISTRICT.....HOMICIDE .... 31XX G STREET....ON THE HIGHWAY AT 7:42 PM..... A 32-YEAR-OLD MALE WAS STRUCK MULTIPLE TIMES THROUGHOUT THE BODY.... THE MALE WAS TRANSPORTED TO TEMPLE HOSPITAL BY POLICE AND PRONOUNCED DECEASED AT 8:07PM ..... SCENE HELD....NO ARRESTS MADE, NO WEAPONS RECOVERED..
OCTOBER 14 AND OCTOBER 15, 2023
Between 10/14/23 and 10/15/23, there have been two reported gunpoint Stranger Rapes in the 12th District. This pattern is based on modus operandi, description of offender & geographical location.
On 10/15/23, 5:00 PM, on the 1100 block of S. Paxon St.
A female complainant reported she was walking in the area of 5100 Springfield Ave. When she approached 1100 S. Paxon St., an unknown B/M came up behind her, pointed a silver handgun at her side, and demanded money. The complainant gave the male $25.00 and some prescription medication. The male then forced the complainant to an alleyway in the rear of Paxon Street, where she was sexually assaulted. The male then fled the area on foot in an unknown direction.
Offender: Unknown B/M, thin build, wearing dark pants, blue hoody, blue mask, red Phillies hat with white P. with a silver handgun
On 10/14/23, 3:00 AM on the 1600 block of S. 55th St.
A female complainant reported that she was inside her vehicle at the traffic light located at 55th and Kingsessing Avenue when the offender approached her vehicle, pointed a small black handgun at her and demanded money. The complainant gave the offender $20.00; he then ordered her to unlock the car doors, got into her vehicle and directed her to 49th and St. Bernard St., where he sexually assaulted the complainant. The offender then drove the complainant to an ATM and told her to withdraw money, which she did. Shortly after receiving the money, the male exited the vehicle and left the area.
Offender: Unknown B/M, thin build, mid-twenties, wearing dark gray sweatpants, gray hoody, blue mask.
