Lions Win Third Straight Defeat Audubon 43 - 6

The Gloucester City Lions improved to 3- 1 overall when they defeated visiting Audubon 43 - 6 in Conference play. Audubon entered the game at 2 - 0 behind QB Breyson McCracken and Wide Out Luke Hoke who combined for 4 Td's in the Green Waves 2 win start. Both McCracken and Hoke were not allowed to make an impact against a Lions stubborn defense.
The underrated Lions defense led by Seniors Jake Zearfoss, Kaleb Wright, Caiden Elmore, Justice Dolson and Shurke Copeland have account for 71 tackles while Juniors Trevin Burkhardt and Kadon Harris have provided their input with 21 tackles.
In the 3 game winning streak the Offense has put 138 points on the board while the Defense has allowed a misleading 27 points with 13 of those points scored late in the game against the younger Lions.

The Lions dynamic RB duo of Jake Zearfoss and Mason Widman combined for 5 touchdowns giving the Lions a 35 - 0 lead in the 3rd quarter. On the year the two running backs have accounted for 12 Td's in 4 games. Lions starting quarterback Jake Siebert left the game early with an injury and Freshman Aston Wall entered the game responded for his first Varsity action at Qb to maintain the momentum created by Siebert.

With the win the Lions improve to 3 - 1 and moved into first place in Division, while the Green Wave dropped to 2 - 1 and second place in Colonial Divisional play. The Lions travel down the road on 9/30 to 3 - 0 Woodbury where the defense has allowed a total of 18 points. Audubon will host Overbrook 9/30 11:00
