GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ (September 23, 2023)(CNBNews)-We recently discovered that the Gloucester City Police Department is now using CrimeReports.com, a platform that shares unprocessed crime data related to Gloucester City. Similar services have been used by many other police departments nearby for a long time—for example, the City of Philadelphia. To access the data, you must create an account by clicking the link below. You may also be asked to volunteer to register your security camera(s), but having a camera is not mandatory.
CNBNews is pleased to report that the police department has joined a new program. In the past, the police would provide weekly crime reports to the press, but Police Chief/Acting City Administrator Brian Morrell stopped this practice due to the amount of time it took for officers to gather and publish the data. However, since Morrell's tenure, the department has grown from 30 officers to 37 plus two secretarial positions. It's noteworthy that the average salary for a police officer in Gloucester City is $127,000, which ranks third-highest among 37 communities in Camden County.
The department has released a statement about this service on its website in PDF format, a copy of that announcement appears below along with a link to the crimereports.com.
We have also included a video from the company providing the service that explains exactly what Crime Map is all about.

How much will crimemapping.com cost Gloucester City taxpayers? Since that number is not publicly provided by the police department, we will file an OPRA request for that amount.
