For instance, there are many devout esports and CS: GO enthusiasts in Georgia.
DreamHack Atlanta 2023
While New York’s nickname is “The Big Apple,” Atlanta is affectionately known as “The Big Peach”. Famous for its abundant harvest of delicious-smelling, ripe peaches with their soft and fuzzy skins, it is no wonder that Georgia’s capital city bears such a sweet name.
DreamHack Atlanta is a large-scale festival that will be held at the Georgia World Congress Center from December 15 to 17. The slogan is, “This is your quest, this is your weekend, this is your adventure, this is your world.” The exciting festival will also present CSGO gambling in the ESL Challenger - Counter-strike. There will be a total of eight participating teams, where the cash prizes amount to as much as $100,000.
Eleague Major 2017 hosted in Atlanta
Did you know that a much-visited Atlanta attraction site is the World of Coca-Cola? Now a popular beverage around the world, the origins of the brown carbonated beverage trace back to Georgia's capital city, where the very first glass of Coca-Cola was poured in downtown Atlanta. Besides the iconic drink, Atlanta has also been home to a CS: GO championship.
Eleague Major 2017, also known as Atlanta 2017, was the tenth CS: GO major championship, held from January 22 to 29. It featured sixteen teams from all over the globe with a prize pool of $1,000,000. With these kinds of figures, it is no wonder the event attracted people from far and wide, wanting to get in on the fun and games. For those who did not attend in person but still wanted to be in on the big event, all streams were broadcast on Twitch in several different languages.
It seems an obvious choice that the Eleague Major was held in Georgia’s capital city a few years ago, considering what a big business esports is for the state. In fact, esports contributes millions of dollars yearly to the state’s economy. The Georgia esports league, also known as GEL, is the state’s official collegiate esports platform.
Counter-strike: Global Offensive over the years
CSGO has recently celebrated its first decade, and like any other 11-year-old, the game has undergone a number of changes over the years. Some of these developments include the skin economy, map and interface releases, new weapon and player models, halftime voice chat, new gaming modes and an enormous esports landscape.
The multi-billion dollar industry of sports betting has also undergone massive transformations in the recent past. The way that sports betting has changed over the years also influences the esports scene and CSGO gambling.
