THE FEMALE WAS TAKEN TO TEMPLE HOSPITAL BY POLICE AND WAS PRONOUNCED AT 12:57A .. #2 A MALE, "JOHN DOE" IN HIS LATE 40'S WAS SHOT 2 TIMES IN THE HEAD... Shooting - 41xx Ogden Street
16TH DISTRICT... SHOOTING... 41xx OGDEN ST... ON THE HIGHWAY AT 10:26P... A 22 YEAR OLD FEMALE WAS SHOT ONCE TO THE HEAD... VICTIM WAS TRANSPORTED TO PRESBYTERIAN HOSPITAL BY 16T1 AND PLACED IN CRITICAL CONDITION... SCENE HELD... NO WEAPONS RECOVERED OR ARRESTS MADE..
Earlier today, Thursday, August 31, a body was discovered in a trash can located in the 5500-unit block of Cherry Street.
Homicide—5500 Cherry St.
On Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at 10:24 am, Philadelphia Police officers responded to a radio call for a “Hospital Case” at 5500 Cherry St. Upon arriving, officers were met by PHA sanitation employees who directed them to an unknown male inside a trash can on the rear of a PHA dump truck. Medics arrived and pronounced the male at 10:26 am. The victim was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office for further investigation.
On August 24, 2023, a comprehensive post-examination was conducted on the decedent’s remains and the manner of death was ruled a homicide. The investigation remains active and ongoing with the Homicide Unit.

Robbery—15xx N. 30th St.
On Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 11:50 P.M., police responded to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center for a report of a prior assault. A 62-year-old complainant was walking his dog on the 15XX block of North 30th Street when an unknown offender or offenders assaulted the complainant and stole the complainant’s wallet. The complainant lost consciousness and was transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was placed in stable condition. No arrest has been made. The investigation is active and ongoing with Central Detective Division.
