SHELBY, NORTH CAROLINE (AUGUST 14, 2023)--Facing World Series elimination in the 2023 American Legion World Series, the Brooklawn Legion Post 72,  Mid-Atlantic and New Jersey Champions, rallied behind winning pitcher Graham Adams to defeat Florence, South Carolina of the Southeast Representative 10-4.

Brooklawn pitcher Graham Adams answered the call by going 4.2 innings allowing 4 runs on 5 hits and throwing 107 pitches. Reliever Gavin Friel pitched a scoreless final 2 1/3 innings and was credited with the win.

Entering the game, played at Skeeter Stadium, in a 3-way tie for first place with Lincoln, Nebraska, and Florence, South Carolina a Tie Breaker was in place.  Not only did Brooklawn need to win to advance, they had to win by 3 or more runs.

Crazy as it may sound had Brooklawn beat Florence SC by less than 3 runs Florence would have advanced and Brooklawn would have headed home.
