Atlantic City Police Arrest Three Suspects

The Atlantic City Police Department recovered two handguns and arrested three individuals after officers witnessed a drug transaction.
On July 18, 2023 at 7:56 PM, Detectives Alberto Valles and Christopher Dodson and Officers Brandon Bower and William Harned were patrolling the Bungalow Park section of Atlantic City when they observed Xavier Leon Jr. approach a vehicle with Joseph Hill and Shabria Cooper-Carter inside in the 700 block of Wabash Avenue. The officers observed Leon and Hill engage in a drug transaction.
After Leon Jr. walked away, the officers stopped him. He was found in possession of a single bag of marijuana and a loaded handgun in a satchel. Leon Jr. was arrested without incident.
The officers proceeded to the vehicle to speak with Hill and Cooper-Carter. Both were arrested after officers found 48 grams of packaged marijuana throughout the front area of the vehicle and a handgun.
ARRESTED: Joseph Hill, 24, of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of CDS with the intent to distribute, possession of CDS with the intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public zone, loitering to distribute CDS, possession of hollow-point ammunition, possession of a weapon while committing a CDS offense, and money laundering.
ARRESTED: Shabria Cooper-Carter, 24, of Wilmington, DE.
CHARGES: Unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of CDS with the intent to distribute, possession of CDS with the intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public zone, loitering to distribute CDS, possession of hollow-point ammunition, possession of a weapon while committing a CDS offense, and money laundering.
ARRESTED: Xavier Leon Jr., 20, of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of hollow-point ammunition, and loitering to purchase CDS.
All three individuals were remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility. The public is reminded that charges are mere allegations, and the accused is considered innocent until proven guilty.
