GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ (July 31, 2023)--St. Mary's Parish is celebrating its 175th Anniversary this year. The parish will mark the occasion on Sunday, September 17. with a mass and breakfast. Below are the details about that event.
Come home to St. Mary Church, Gloucester City, Sunday September 17, and join us in celebrating the 175th Anniversary of the our parish. We will be honoring past and present students, faculty and staff of Gloucester Catholic High School and St. Mary Grammar School. We invite you and your families to join together with our current Gloucester Catholic Community at the 11:30 AM mass.
St. Mary Parish is the oldest parish in the Diocese of Camden, and St. Mary Grammar School and Gloucester Catholic are a intrical part of that long and rich tradition. If you were Hawk or a Ram, we invite you to celebrate our parish and its historic ties to both schools. The homilist for the mass will be Deacon Joseph Rafferty, and alumnus of St. Mary Grammar School (1975) and Gloucester Catholic High School, (1979). Deacon Rafferty was a former teacher and coach at Gloucester Catholic High.
Mass will be followed by refreshments in the Monsignor Lucitt Hall (gym), and both schools buildings will be open to tour. Take a step back in time and reminisce with schoolmates and friends about the good old days.
