Volunteer Firefighters Respond to Multiple Alarm in West Collingswood Heights; No Injuries Reported

 
 
 
WEST COLLINGSWOOD HEIGHTS (June 3, 2023)(CNBNews)--Friday, June 2, around 4 PM  a contractor's generator caught fire near the Camden County MUA pumping station in West Collingswood Heights. Volunteer firemen from the communities of  Audubon,  Oaklyn,  Westmont, and West Collingswood Heights responded to the alarm. Gloucester City and Cherry Hill Hazmat units were also on the scene.  Oaklyn Fire Chief Greg Grudzinski said a contractor’s generator was ablaze outside the pump station when firefighters arrived, according to The NJ Pen.

With the flames encroaching upon the building and a nearby oil tank, firefighters stretched four hand lines into service and began knocking down the fire.

There were no reported injuries.
