Ongoing Road Work will Close Portions of 295

(Trenton) - New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced the I-295 northbound Exit 26 ramp to I-76 westbound is scheduled to be closed on Thursday for emergency drum array and attenuator repairs as the Direct Connection project advances in Bellmawr, Camden County.
From 10 a.m. until 12 noon Thursday, June 29, the I-295 northbound Exit 26, which becomes the left lane of I-76 westbound, will be closed and detoured. Once Exit 26 reopens, the left lane on I-295 northbound just past the exit is scheduled to be closed until 2 p.m. At least one lane will be maintained during construction. The exit and lane closures are necessary for emergency repairs to the drum array and attenuator. The following detour will be in place:
I-295 northbound Exit 26 to I-76 westbound detour:
- Motorists traveling on I-295 northbound will be directed to continue on I-295 northbound to Exit 27
- Take the left Exit 27 ramp to I-76 westbound

Portable variable message signs are being utilized to provide advance notification to the public of all traffic pattern changes associated with the work. The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors.
