James Hooker, age 73, of Gloucester City

On June 18, 2023. Age 73. Of Gloucester City. Loving and devoted husband of 45 years to Claire Hooker (nee Neri). Predeceased by his son, Patrick Hooker (surviving Julie) and survived by children, Danielle Hooker McCormick (Jeff), Alicia Peppin (John), Jennifer Hooker (Scott Wasson), Craig Williams and Jim McNally. Cherished grandfather of Ethan, Ellie, Regan, Jack, Alex, Abbie, Kryn, Luke, Gabe, Ethan, Finn, Killian, Neveah, Annabelle and Cassie. Beloved brother of Geraldine Rudesill (late Bubba), Robert Hooker (Carol) and Janie Mackie (Leroy).

Jim was born in Quanah, TX to the late Robert and Jane Hooker. He was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School class of 1968. Shortly after graduation, Jim enlisted in the Air Force and proudly served our country during Vietnam. He was a dedicated employee of the United States Postal Service for 35 years, retiring from the Bellmawr Post Office in 2012. Jim loved to write poetry and short stories and would often share them on social media.

At his request, cremation will be private. A celebration of his life is being planned and will be announced in the near future.
