AC Police Arrest Suspect for Stabbing Two Men

 

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (June 26, 2023) --The Atlantic City Police Department arrested a suspect responsible for cutting two men during an altercation.

On June 25, 2023, at 12:31 AM, patrol officers responded to the 3000 block of Pacific Avenue for individuals involved in a fight with one armed with a knife.  Officer Dylan Perez arrived and multiple bystanders pointed out the suspect who had stabbed two men.  Officer Perez attempted to stop Dwayne Lewis who began to run away.  With assistance from Officer Kenlyn Johnson, Lewis was apprehended and taken into custody.

Lewis and two men were involved in an altercation when Lewis used a pocket knife to stab both.  The victims were transported to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

 

ARRESTED:  Dwayne Lewis, 37, of Brooklyn, NY.

CHARGES:  Aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and resisting arrest.

Lewis was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.  The public is reminded that charges are mere allegations, and the accused is considered innocent until proven guilty.
