Camden, N.J. - Detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a man on Wednesday night in Camden City, reported Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez. On Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at approximately 11:07 p.m., Camden County Police Department Officers responded to Ablett Village in reference to a report of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers located Bryan Roberts, 21, of Trenton, who was unresponsive and not breathing. EMS arrived at the scene and Roberts was found to be deceased. The investigation is active and ongoing at this time. UPDATED (June 30, 2023)-- Gloucester City Police Chief/Acting City Administrator Brian Morrell answered our OPRA request yesterday. We had asked for the number of motor vehicles stolen between January 1, 2022 up until June 2023. According to Morrell there were a total of 27 motor vehicles stolen between January 1, 2022 and June 29, 2023. MAYS LANDING, NJ – John Garman, 38, of Somers Point was arrested on Thursday, May 25, 2023, following a joint narcotics investigation conducted by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office’s Gangs, Guns, & Narcotics Unit, Somers Point Police Department, and the HIDTA (High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area) Task Force. The investigation determined Garman was operating a non-licensed cannabis manufacturing and distribution operation from his residence in Somers Point. As a result of the investigation, law enforcement seized approximately 65 lbs. of marijuana, 32 lbs. of THC gummy candy, 1.5 lbs. of Psilocybin mushrooms, 10 lbs. of THC cartridges, and .5 lb. of additional THC infused candy. The Atlantic City Police Department arrested a man wanted on two separate assault warrants with a handgun. On June 19, 2023, at 7:56 PM, Officer Bayron Zelaya-Chavez observed a wanted male, Michael Rodriguez-Noyola, riding his bicycle at California and Pacific Avenues. Officer Zelaya-Chavez attempted to stop Rodriguez-Noyola when he fled on his bike on to the Boardwalk. Ultimately, Rodriguez-Noyola was taken into custody by responding officers near Sovereign and Pacific Avenues. He was found in possession of a loaded handgun. Two officers sustained minor injuries in the chase. Rodriguez-Noyola was wanted from two separate incidents that occurred in Atlantic City. Detectives Dismantle Ring that Made Millions from Catalytic Converter Thefts The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office today announced the dismantling of a multi-million-dollar organized criminal enterprise that specialized in the theft of catalytic converters throughout the Delaware Valley region. The nearly yearlong investigation, led by Detectives with the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office, resulted in the charging of a Philadelphia tow yard, along with 10 adult individuals and one juvenile. Three dozen local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies in Bucks County, Montgomery County, Delaware County, Philadelphia, and New Jersey took part in this collaborative investigation. MAYS LANDING, NJ – On Wednesday June 21, 2023, Clinton Danks, 58, and Kristina Meyers, 37, both of Hammonton, NJ, were indicted by an Atlantic County grand jury for third-degree animal cruelty and third-degree possession of heroin. On November 17, 2022, police responded to a 911 call about a dog in distress at Wal-Mart in Hammonton. Bystanders called police after they saw a Yorkshire Terrier that appeared unresponsive and unable to breathe. When police arrived, they were met by a bystander attempting to aid the dog. An investigation determined that the dog was exposed to heroin by its owners, Danks and Meyers, who were both still on scene. Lane, 61, of Philadelphia, PA was sentenced to 20 years in New Jersey State Prison, subject to the No Early Release Act for first- degree aggravated manslaughter. On June 11, 2021, Atlantic City Police responded to the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City for a report of a woman suffering from multiple stab wounds. Ridgway, J.S.C. on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, to five years in New Jersey State Prison where he must serve 85% of that sentence before being eligible for parole, concurrent, on three separate indictments charging him with Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Possession of a Handgun, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine. (Trenton) - New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced the I-295 northbound Exit 26 ramp to I-76 westbound is scheduled to be closed on Thursday for emergency drum array and attenuator repairs as the Direct Connection project advances in Bellmawr, Camden County. From 10 a.m. until 12 noon Thursday, June 29, the I-295 northbound Exit 26, which becomes the left lane of I-76 westbound, will be closed and detoured. Once Exit 26 reopens, the left lane on I-295 northbound just past the exit is scheduled to be closed until 2 p.m. At least one lane will be maintained during construction. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez. Joyce W. Weaver, who served as an Aviation Machinist Mate 3rd class in the Navy during WWII passed away Thursday, June 15, 2023. She was over 100 years old. MAYS LANDING, NJ – On Monday, June 19, 2023, Francisco Martinez, 53, after an unsuccessful attempt to withdraw his guilty plea, was sentenced to 20 years in New Jersey State Prison in the domestic stabbing of his former girlfriend, Patricia Boney, that occurred back on February 25, 1994. After the slaying of Ms. Boney, Martinez fled in her 1982 Camaro, which was discovered in Houston, Texas on March 8, 1994. It is believed that he crossed the border into Mexico, where he successfully hid under an assumed identity for over twenty-five years. On February 25, 1994, Martinez went to 111 N. Harding Highway in Buena Borough to confront Boney, who had moved on from him and had no desire to reunite.
