GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ (MAY 19, 2023)(CNBNews)There was a multiple-alarm fire on South Burdsall Avenue early Friday morning. Neighbors nearby said a lithium battery exploded and that started the fire. But the fire is still under investigation and CNBNews hasn’t been able to confirm that information. Those neighbors also said in one of the homes a couple just moved into the house two months ago.
According to information released by the Westville Fire Department, the first alarm sounded at 4:55 AM. Companies operated on an exterior fire that extended into two single-family dwellings. The All Hands was struck along with the second Alarm. Ladder 736 split the Westville Company and operated on both dwellings. On the original property, the crew handled outside ventilation, and ground ladders and secured the utilities. On the exposed dwelling they placed ground ladders and opened the roof from vertical ventilation.
No injuries were reported, fire is under investigation.
