Fire At Gloucester Iron and Metal; Residents Said They Heard A Loud Explosion

GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ (MAY 23, 2023)(CNBNews)—Today, around 2:30 PM, there was a multiple-alarm fire at the Gloucester Iron and Metal, a junkyard located on 10th Street and South Broadway.  Nearby residents said they heard a loud explosion and saw a large plume of black smoke coming from the facility. One woman said the explosion knocked her out of her chair.

Fire departments responding to the alarm included Gloucester City Fire Department, Camden City Officers Local #2578, Westmont Volunteer Fire Department, Station 7, Westville Volunteer Fire Department, Bellmawr Volunteer Fire Department #32, and Camden County OEM.
