Eleanor A. Kain, Gloucester City; Founder of the Ponytail League, Board of Health President

Gloucester City - On May 23, 2023. Age 85. (nee Morlachetta). Surrounded and in the loving care of her Screenshot 2023-05-23 at 20.11.19children, Jack (Bernadette) Kain, Lillian (Mike) Kain-Beese, Paul (Maggie) Kain and the late Patricia A. “Tricia” Kain-Sauter (surviving husband Jim) all of “The Holy City.” Predeceased by her loving and devoted husband of 59 years, John “Jack” V. Kain; her parents, Paul and Helen Morlachetta and her brother, George Morlachetta. Cherished grandmother of Michael, Keirstin, Nicholas, Timothy (Amy), Kevin, Jack, Christopher, Gillian, Stephen, Henry and Magdalene and great-grandmother of Ethan. Loving sister of Paul Morlachetta (Marie), Barry Morlachetta (Carole) and Linda Sochor (Bob). Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. 

Eleanor was born in Woodbury and grew up in Gibbstown. She was a founding member of the Gloucester City Ponytail Softball League and former president of the Gloucester City Board of Health. Eleanor was a faithful, devoted parishioner of St. Mary’s Church and a member of the “Saints and Singers” group. She dedicated many years to St. Mary’s School PTA. 

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewings on Thursday evening, June 1st from 6 to 8 PM and again on Friday morning, June 2nd from 9 to 10:15 AM at the McCANN -HEALEY FUNERAL HOME, 851 Monmouth St, Gloucester City. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM in St. Mary’s R.C. Church, 426 Monmouth Street, Gloucester City. Interment New Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr.
