At least one lane of traffic will be maintained in both directions

(Trenton) – Left lane closures on Route 130 began on Saturday as the Route 130 Bridge over Big Timber Creek project begins in Camden and Gloucester counties.

The left lane on Route 130 northbound and southbound are closed, and the roadway has been reduced to one lane in each direction. This traffic pattern is expected to be in place for approximately two months. The lane closures will allow removing the median barrier and concrete islands. Motorists are advised to slow down, use caution, expect delays, or plan an alternate route.

The project is being done in 10 stages. Work in the first stage will include removing the existing median barrier and the concrete islands near Brooklawn Circle, constructing temporary roadways on both sides of the Bridge over Big Timber Creek, and drainage upgrades near River Drive in Westville. This stage is expected to be complete by the summer of 2023.

The $54 million federally funded project will remove and replace the Route 130 Bridge over Big Timber Creek in Brooklawn, Camden County, and Westville, Gloucester County. The project is expected to be complete by spring 2028.

The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT’s traffic information website www.511nj.org for construction updates and real-time travel information and for NJDOT news follow us on Twitter @NewJerseyDOT and our Facebook page.
