Jefferson Stratford Hospital and Jefferson Washington Township Hospital have each been honored with a 2022 Hospital Quality and Safety Award by the Greater Philadelphia Business Coalition on Health (GPBCH). The awards were announced at the recent GPBCH Regional Leapfrog Quality and Safety Awards event at the Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia. Hosted by GPBCH and the Health Care Improvement Foundation, the awards program brought together healthcare leaders and employers to discuss the value of the Leapfrog Hospital Survey, Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) Survey, and Safety Grade in driving healthcare quality and safety, and to recognize top-performing hospitals and ASCs in our region.
This year’s recipients — 12 area hospitals and one ambulatory surgery facility — were selected based on their 2022 Leapfrog Survey and Safety Grade results. GPBCH's 53 employer members represent more than 1.5 million lives and have prioritized healthcare quality and safety in their benefits plans. “Public availability of quality of care and patient safety measures is more important than ever, as the COVID pandemic severely stretched provider resources and many facilities continue to face staffing shortages,” said GPBCH President and CEO Neil Goldfarb.
