Tuesday, April 25, 2023
Jada Griffin-Howard, BSN, RN, a registered nurse on the C4 Patient Pavilion unit at Jefferson Cherry Hill Hospital, was recently honored with a DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. The Cherry Hill, NJ, resident was recognized for establishing a connection with a patient through trust and emotional support.
"Jada cared for me as if she knew me all of her life. She made me feel comfortable, loved, and like I was her mother," wrote a grateful patient. "I am a mother of three children with a disabled husband, so I usually take care of everyone. Jada helped me realize it was okay to ask for help.”
Part of an international program, DAISY honorees are nominated by patients, family members, and colleagues. DAISY Award winners are chosen following a review of nominations by Jefferson’s Clinical Recognition Committee in New Jersey. The nonprofit DAISY Foundation was established in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, who died in late 1999 from complications of an autoimmune disease. For more information about the DAISY Award, visit www.DAISYfoundation.org.
