GHS Grad Johnson Continuing Sports Accomplishments

2021 GHS Graduate Crystal Johnson left behind a very busy and successful athletic career as a Lion, Johnson spent 4 years on the soccer field, 4 years on the hardwood basketball courts, as both team's captain and in between those seasons Johnson found time to participate on the softball field and track.

Upon graduation Johnson took her talents to RCSJ (Rowan College of South Jersey). During year one at RCSJ she made the schools soccer team as a walk on athlete.

Johnson had the winning goal when the Nationally Rank Roadrunners clinched the  Region IXX championship to advance to the National Championship.

The Junior College finals did not go the way Johnson and her teammates expected, but is was an extra rewarding experience for Johnson as she was named a Junior College All-American Soccer player.

After the 2021 Covid soccer season, Johnson headed indoors to continue her basketball career. As a role player Johnson again was a member of another Nationally Ranked Team and again fell short of a National Title.

The 2022 soccer team even though very competitive was not able to recreate the successful season of the 2021 year. After much consideration Johnson set her basketball career aside and decided to concentrate on her future soccer career at a four year College.

Because of her athletic ability Johnson was asked if she would be interested in the RCSJ Golf Team. Yes, an individual who had never been on  a Golf course would attempt to compete against other groomed golfers in College.

RCSJ took a chance and made Johnson a valuable member.  Johnson a very inexperienced Golfer was put into the lineup and has been nothing short of surprising,

At Flanders Valley Golf Club, RCSJ the only full women's Golf Team in Region IXX Johnson shot round of 98 breaking first time breaking 100 this season.  Johnson's 98 score is an extremely impressive accomplishment since she first picked up a club on March 1, 2023

After a few rounds and now 2 months of practice since starting golf,  Johnson's best score of 98, is having an immediate impact on the sport. As a hard working athlete Crystal Johnson has reassured the Athletic Department at RCSJ that their decision to ask her to Golf was  not a crazy and Johnson has taken it seriously by her as she will not disappoint and will be an inspiration to others.
