PHILADELPHIA [April 30, 2023]—(CNBNews)—The Philadelphia Police Department is investigating an Officer-Involved shooting that resulted in two officers and a suspect being shot in the city's Germantown neighborhood. On Saturday, April 29, 2023, at approximately 4:09 PM, police were called to the 400 block of W. Bringhurst Street for a "person with a gun". Upon arrival, police gained entry into the home and announced "police". Shortly thereafter, police heard one shot. The officers exited the house, set up a perimeter, and declared a barricade. ATLANTIC CITY NJ (April 29, 2023)(CNBNews) --On Wednesday, April 26, 2023 members of the Atlantic City Police Department’s Special Investigations Section conducted an investigation that resulted in four arrests and the recovery of a handgun and drugs. At 9:39 AM, Detectives Eric Evans and Christopher Dodson conducted an investigation as a result of information they received concerning a male armed with a handgun. Detectives observed the male, Brian Lott, traveling as a passenger in a pickup truck that was being operated by John Brown. Steve Montgomery and Racheal Kirkpatrick were also passengers in the vehicle. The detectives subsequently conducted a motor vehicle stop in the first block of South Morris Avenue. ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (April 28, 2023)(CNBNews)--On April 19, 2023, an altercation outside of a residence led to two individuals being stabbed and a canine losing its life. At 4:12 AM, Officers were dispatched to Trenton Terrace for a report of a group in a fight. Officers arrived to find two individuals, Joseph Dixon and Deontay Mickey-Evans, bleeding from stab wounds. Dixon was also tending to a canine bleeding heavily from apparent stab wounds. Board's Higher Score Doubled Failure Rate on 2022 Field Test On May 3, the New Jersey State Board of Education will again vote to set passing scores on the tests high school students must pass to receive a diploma. Discussion at the Board’s April 5 meeting indicated they may be headed for disaster. At the State Board’s April meeting, New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) officials presented results of the New Jersey Graduation Proficiency Assessment (NJGPA) “field test.” Last year, the Board set the NJGPA passing score at 750, instead of the 725 recommended by the Department and the test vendor. The field test results showed that the 750 level doubled failure rates on the English Language Arts portion of the test. Tre’saan C. Braxton was arrested on April 24. Police did not release the suspect’s street address. He was charged with the following crimes Robbery-First Degree Receiving Stolen Property-Third Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose-Third Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon-Thrid Degree Hindering his own Apprehension-Third Degree Police did not explain where the vehicle was recovered. It was not clear if the suspect used a weapon to commit the crime. However, a charge of Robbery in the First Degree is typically an armed robbery according to Defense Attorney Jonathan F. Marshall. Michele Brooks, R-Greenville, and Rep. Perry Stambaugh, R-New Bloomfield – would give organized charitable or memorial rides with at least 10 participants the ability to proceed through traffic signals and stop signs as a group.
