Rowan forward Ja'Zere Noel Named to NABC Division III District All-America Team

KANSAS CITY, MO – Rowan forward Ja'Zere Noel has been named to the 2022-23 NABC Division III District All-America First Team, as voted on by National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division III coaches. He becomes the Profs' first All-American since Matt Byrnes was a first-team selection in 1997-98.

Noel is the 10th player in Rowan men's basketball history to earn All-America status, and the fourth to become a first-team honoree.  

Rowan's All-Americans

In his first season at Rowan the junior made an immediate impact in helped the Profs to an NJAC title and a berth in the NCAA Sweet 16. He topped NJAC in scoring with 19.9 points per game and led Rowan in rebounding with 8.0 per contest. The 6-6 forward shot 49.8 percent from the field and 82.9 percent from the foul line, numbers that ranked fifth in the conference

 

The NABC District 4 Player of the Year, Noel was also chosen as the 2022-23 NJAC Pony Wilson Men's Basketball Co-Player of the Year, becoming the first Prof to earn the league's top award since 2007-08.

 

Noel scored double figures in all but one game, and had eight double-doubles on the year, while recording 20-plus points in 17 games.

He was instrumental in Rowan's 24-6 season in which the Profs captured the NJAC Championship, their second since 2018-19, and advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16 for the first time since 1996-97.
