Richard Emery "Rock" Stefan, of Mount Ephraim; World Cup Ball Hockey Coach

Richard Emery "Rock" Stefan, 65, of Mount Ephraim, NJ passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Jefferson Hospital, Abington, PA.


Born in Camden, NJ in 1957, to the late, Rudolf and Elizabeth (Calloway) Stefan. Richard was a lifelong resident of Mt. Ephraim. Screenshot 2023-03-27 at 22.52.38
In his early years, he had a career with Burger King. Later, he was a settlement processor for Weichert Title for over 20 years and also worked in the title insurance field for over 40 years.


Rock's passion was ball hockey and his life revolved around the love for the game. He was a coach, general manager and referee. He was involved with the South Jersey Ball Hockey League, the Garden State Ball Hockey League, a USA Masters Coach, the Mt. Ephraim youth Hockey League, and Rock's career culminated by coaching the World Cup Ball Hockey Team in Banff in Canada.


Besides his parents, Rudolf and Elizabeth, he was predeceased by his brother, Rudolf Stefan, Jr.
Rock leaves behind, to cherish his memory, his siblings, Elizabeth Nelson and her husband, Bob, Joseph Stefan and his companion, Barb, Barbara Grim and her husband, Michael, Beverly Bauer and her husband, Ray, Bruce Stefan and his wife, Susan, his godson, Christopher Pascal, his canine companion, Milo, a host of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins and friends.

A special recognition goes out to his hockey family, who he loved and cherished throughout his career.


Funeral arrangements under the direction of the  Mahaffey-Milano Funeral Home, 11 E. Kings Highway, Mt. Ephraim, NJ 08059. Interment at Locustwood Cemetery, Cherry Hill, NJ.
