Janis Rice of Haddonfield, formerly of Gloucester City

On March 9, 2023 Janis E. Rice (nee Schuetz) of Haddonfield, NJ, age 87. Beloved wife of the late Bruce H. Rice; loving mother to Douglas Rice (Leslie), Alison Pelose (George) and Jeffrey Rice, all of Haddonfield; adoring grandmother of George, Gregory & Brian Pelose and Christopher & Katherine Rice; dear cousin of Kate Walsh (Pat).

Screenshot 2023-03-15 at 22.00.36Born and raised in Gloucester City, NJ, Janis attended Cooper Nursing School and received her BA from Glassboro State. She was a school nurse at Brookfield Academy for many years. She also worked at The Institute of the Pennsylvania Hospital, Friends Hospital and was a realtor at Long and Foster. Janis had a passion for traveling and loved the arts, having season tickets to the Philadelphia Orchestra, Ballet and Opera. She enjoyed tennis, gourmet club and playing bridge and mahjong with her friends. She loved Haddonfield, where she resided over 60 years, and worshipping at The Lutheran Church of our Savior. Her greatest joy was her family and most of all her five grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Saturday March 18, from 8:30 to 10:00am at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 204 Wayne Ave., Haddonfield, NJ. Service will be celebrated at 10:00am, immediately followed by interment at the Haddonfield Baptist Cemetery, Haddonfield, NJ.
