Funeral Services Held for Sister Marie Victoria Bartkowski, served in Glassboro,

Sister Marie Victoria Bartkowski (formerly Sister Mary Florentine), a Felician Sister for 61 years and a former pastoral minister in Glassboro, died Feb. 22 at the Immaculate Conception Convent in Lodi. She was 80.

Born in Wilmington, Del., in 1943, she entered the postulancy of the Felician Sisters in Lodi in 1961. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in elementary education from Felician College, Lodi, and a master’s degree in secondary education from Connecticut State University.

In her six decades of religious commitment, Sister Marie Victoria served in educational and pastoral ministries throughout the Dioceses of Camden, Metuchen, Wilmington, and Arlington, Va., as well as the Archdiocese of Newark.

In the Diocese of Camden, Sister Marie Victoria served as a pastoral minister at Glassboro’s Saint Bridget Parish from 1984 to 1995.

Her last assignment, where she served until November, was as pastoral assistant/director of faith formation at Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Wallington, N.J.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on March 3, with burial in the convent cemetery in Lodi.
