William J. Burleigh, 82, of Bellmawr; formerly of Gloucester City, GHS Alumnus Class of '58

William Joseph Burleigh Jr, 82, of Bellmawr, NJ, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2022 surrounded by family and friends after a hard fought battle with cancer. He was born November 22, 1939 in Camden, NJ.

Bill is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirley Ann Burleigh (Hall), his 3 children, William J. Burleigh III (Sandy), Patricia A. Reilley (William), and James Burleigh Sr. (Angela), 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Bill also leaves behind many brothers and sisters.


Bill graduated in 1958 from Gloucester City High School. He then became a commercial electrician at Owen's Corning Fiberglass for 30+ years. Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed spending time at the casinos with his wife and watching sports. Bill (Pop-Pop) loved making precious memories with his grandchildren.
