Joseph J. Cucinotta of Gibbstown Honored on 100th Birthday

GLOUCESTER COUNTY, NJ (CNBNews.net--On Saturday, February 11, 2023, Commissioner Denice DiCarlo, Liaison to Veterans Affairs, Director Frank J. DiMarco, Gloucester County Surrogate Giuseppe Chila, Bob Jonas, Director of Gloucester County Veterans Affairs and Mayor Vincent Giovannitti of Gibbstown had the honor of presenting Joseph J. Cucinotta with a Proclamation from the Gloucester County Commissioners and from Gibbstown for his 100th Birthday, and Service to our Country.

For those wondering, Mr. Jonas is a former resident of Gloucester City, NJ.

Having served in WWII from 1943 to 1945, Corporal Cucinotta participated in the Battle of Cassino, where he was captured by the Germans and held as a prisoner of war for 15 months. Having served with honor and distinction, Corporal Cucinotta’s awards and citations include the Combat Infantryman Badge, one of the most coveted awards presented by the United States Army during war time, the Bronze Star Medal, one of the highest medals given in war time for meritorious service in ground combat, the Prisoner of War Medal, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with two Battle Stars, the World War II Victory Medal, the New Jersey Distinguished Service Medal with Silver Oak Leaf Cluster, the New Jersey POW-MIA Medal, the World War II Honorable Discharge Service Lapel Button (Ruptured Duck), and the Gloucester County Military Service Medal.
