Harry Laskowski, Westville Mayor and Councilman

Laskowski, Harry of Westville, NJ, passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 24, 2023 at the age of 94. Harry was pre-deceased by his loving wife, Regina Laskowski (Witt). Survived by his three children: Regina Smith of Paoli, PA; Marilyn Laskowski-Sachnoff (Neil Sachnoff) of West Berlin, NJ and Leo D. Laskowski of Westville, NJ; 3 grandchildren: Katherine Tokay (Ernie), Leo D. Laskowski, Jr. (Melissa), and Lauren Solvibile (Ed); and 7 great

grandchildren: Jeanne, Marie, Henry, Ava, Elin, Emily, and Lila. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

CNBNews graphic filesHarry worked at Edgar Barcus & Company as a steel rule diemaker for over 70 years. He was actively involved in his parish: St. Anne’s RC Church. He served as a Councilman from 1963-1971 when he was elected Mayor of Westville and served as the mayor from 1971-1982. He served as a Fire Commissioner for Westville and was an Honorary Lifetime Member of the Westville Fire Department.

 Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday February 4, 2023, at St. Mary’s RC Church, 426 Monmouth St., Gloucester City, NJ 08030.

Interment was private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Harry’s memory may be sent to St. John of God Community Services, 1145 Delsea Drive, Westville, NJ 08093. Arrangements under the direction of the Ellis-Stiefel Funeral Home.
