Mae D. Nonnamaker, of Audubon; First Woman of the Audubon PD and Past Ambulance Driver

(nee Dieser) On January 20, 2023, longtime resident of Audubon, NJ. Age 89 years.

Beloved daughter of the late George and Florence Dieser (nee Cheatley). Loving mother of Lynda (Doug) McKay, the late Mark Nonnamaker and Grant (Sandra Walker) Nonnamaker. She is also lovingly survived by her grandchildren, Alyssa (Dustin) Skorny, Kyle McKay and Amber Nonnamaker; great grandchildren, Brayden and Finn Skorny and nieces, nephews and friends.

Mae was the first woman member of the Audubon Police Department, where she worked as a dispatcher and secretary for the department. She was a former member of the Audubon Ambulance Squad. Mae also earned her wings by getting her pilots license and was a member of the Police Pilots Association of New Jersey. Mae especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, going to their campground property and enjoyed being outside in nature.

Her graveside service was held privately for family and friends at Locustwood Memorial Park, Cherry Hill, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Angels Helping Animals, 326 New Albany Rd., Moorestown, NJ 08057 (www.angelshelpinganimals.com).
