WESTVILLE, NJ  (December 21, 2022)--Cedar Street neighbors came to the rescue of a woman who was being attacked last Wednesday night.

According to 6ABC,  those residents are being credited for chasing a man who assaulted a woman as she walked on her street last week around 8:30 PM.

Westville police said the woman was attacked from behind by Andre Graig, age 43. 

Her screaming alerted neighbors, who called 911. The man was apprehended a short time later and taken into custody.

 Graig was charged with aggravated assault, criminal restraint and false imprisonment. Police said the woman and the suspect didn't appear to know each other.
