GTPD Annual Heroes and Helpers Program

On Saturday, December 10th, 2022 The Gloucester Township Police Department, with partnership with the Target Store Gloucester-Township, participated in our 10th annual Heroes and Helpers Program (Shop With a Cop)!
Gift cards were purchased for each child to spend on Christmas gifts for their families. The children were chosen with the assistance of the Gloucester Township Public School District, Our Lady Of Hope School, and Erial Christian School and were selected from each school in the Township to participate in the event. This year, GTPD were able to help out 22 children and their families!
As the program’s name suggests, the children are the Heroes and the GTPD Officers are their Helpers. Each child were able to shop with the help of an Officer. They then picked out $100.00 worth of Christmas presents, the presents were wrapped by GTPD staff members and volunteers, and the participants also got a special visit from Santa!
This event couldn't be possible without the assistance and donations from our wonderful community partners at Gloucester Township, New Jersey Target Store, Gloucester Township FOP Lodge 206, Chick-fil-A Berlin Cross Keys Road , and several GTPD civilian staff members!
