Friday, December 23, 2022
GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ (December 23, 2022)(CNBNewsnet)--The City of Gloucester City's annual reorganization meeting is scheduled this year for Thursday, January 5, at 7 PM in the council chambers at the Police Administration 313 Monmouth Street. The public is invited to attend.
Before the start of the regular meeting, there will be a brief Sine-Die meeting, when last-minute business for the year 2022 will be conducted, and those council people elected in November will take the oath of office. Those individuals include incumbent Mayor Dayl Baile and incumbent council members Rob Page, Derrick Timm, and newly elected councilman Samuel Budessa, all Democrats. Baile ran unopposed.
Stepping down is long-time councilman John Hutchinson, a retired Gloucester City police officer, who wasn't endorsed by the new Democrat membership. He ran in the November election as an Independent. The last time an Independent won in Gloucester City was former mayor Robert Bevan in the 1980s.
When looking at the dates of the regular council meetings, notice that they have been changed from the regular day of the last Thursday to the last Monday of each month. All at 7 PM. And Caucas meetings are on Monday at 6 PM.
